In all human endeavors, there is a huge difference between the theory of something and the practice of the thing. In theory, systems like communism promise equality, abundance and near utopia. Then when putting it into practice, people who “know better” get involved and things move far away from the vision.
What most people care about is what their everyday experiences. Are things easy, safe, are you free to guide your own life. This website is a hub for sharing those experiences. Most will be by video and transcriptions of those videos will be posted here.
Seeking Volunteer Interviewees
Have you or a loved one lived under communism as an adult and are willing to be interviewed and videoed with the intent on publishing the videos online? These videos are not political but instead just what real life under communism was like for you. What worked, what did not work. Subjects like food, education, work, travel, living conditions etc.
If you would like to volunteer, logistics like language, privacy and more will all be handled, all you have to do is convey your everyday experiences in a 1 hour interview in person. Your face can be blurred and no private details will be shown.
Initially, I’m looking for people close to Central NJ, but this will evolve rapidly after some experience. Reach out if you are interested in sharing.
